5 Ways to Build and Grow Your Email List with WordPress

Like it or not, email marketing is still one of the best marketing tactics out there. But to do that, you need to maintain a great email list. Not an easy task, but could be done if you know the right tricks. Here are some of them:

1. Have a Lead Magnet:

People don’t really like leaving their emails to anybody unless they are getting something in return. This “something” is called a lead magnet, so-called because it helps to attract leads. You can give anything relevant in return, a free trial, a workbook or some initial points, so that users find it worth it to subscribe to your email list.

2. Go for a Joint Venture:

When two people come together, great things can happen. By collaborating with another person (in or outside your niche), you are effectively increasing your reach. This would help you tap into a whole new demographic, many of whom might be interested in getting your newsletters.

3. Make a Landing Page:

A landing page is the first impression of your website, and hence, really important. The safest bet is to create a separate landing page, which would then redirect to the main website. Alternatively, you can modify the homepage to look like a semi-landing page. In any case, a good landing page is crucial in grabbing leads and creating an email list.

4. Bring Up That Notification:

A subscription pop-up should not be alarming, but it shouldn’t be easy to dismiss either. Mailchimp does a good job of providing code that could easily add a pop-up in your website. Alternatively, there are dedicated plugins (like Bloom) to create the pop-ups and customize them to be appealing to your audience.

5. Notify for Subscriptions to Email List:

A more subtle way of getting emails is by adding a form at the end of the post. It is much less detracting, but also requires users to reach the end of the post. WPForms is a great plugin for creating such forms. It also integrates well with marketing tools like MailChimp and AWeber.
With a few tweaks and a few smart additions, you can easily build an email list that can significantly boost your reach.
